How does one become a meteorite hunter ?

OP

Since the early 70's, the american (ANSMET organization) and japanese (NIPR organization) governments organized a few expeditions aiming Antartica, with the main purpose to discover meteorites. But it is only in the 90's that the amazing potential of hot deserts, as the Sahara, is known. These deserts are, in fact, a very good location to find a large amount of meteorites.

OP

Luc Labenne is, for his part, an enthousiaste from the very beginning : the meteorites hunting is a family tradition ! Initiated since his childhood, Luc Labenne followed the way of professionalization, in creating Labenne Météorites. The main purpose of this company is to put into the light the wonderful potential of hot deserts. With a research based on a systematic method, new meteorites are very often discovered, some of them presenting very interesting features for researches projects.  The growing interest in meteoritics by a wider public goes naturally with the contemporary interest for space and its exploration. The french public especially discovered meteoritics and meteorites hunting with a documentary called "Chasseurs de Météorites" ("Meteorites Hunters"), produced in 1998 for the french cultural show "Des Racines et des Ailes".

Those meteorites are the objects of several scientific researches from famous universities, laboratories, museums and other institutions in France, Europa, North America and Japan. Some of our findings are conserved and exposed into prestigious collection, as for exemple:
